Elizabeth Ann Milligan (1873-1958)

Elizabeth Ann was born in  March 1873 in Hebburn, Durham, England. She was the eldest daughter of Milligans. Her parents were Francis Thomas Milligan and Rose. She had two sisters, one of whom was Cecilia, a proper wife of Arthur Keith Chapman.

On 10 November 1903, at the age of 30 Elizabeth Ann married Julian Rust – an artist and photographer, in Mussoorie, Bengal, India.The Irish beauty of Elizabeth was the subject of many a portrait of her husband. They had three children Cecil, Violet, Helene. The fourth child Edna died of diptheria in infancy.

During her life she lived in India, Sri Lanka, England and South Africa and traveled with her family.

She died on 4 March 1958 in Huntingdon Hall, Katugastota, Ceylon.
